Feature | Note |
---|---|
Author attributions | Rare. Two attributions in titles. |
Binding | Post-Bound. Seems to be 3 gatherings; one of 8 leaves, then a bifolium of 2 leaves, then one set of 10 leaves. Marbled cover suggest a binding date several decades later than the manuscript's creation. May have been a collection of unbound gatherings for a period of time. Quarter vellum with marbled brown paper over thin boards. |
Hands | Single. |
Item formatting | Generous use of white space between poems. Verso sides occasionally left entirely blank. |
Item formatting | Pagination not by compiler. Foliated by a curator beginning with the 2nd leaf. |
Original poetry | Possibly, though unclear. Revisions to a pastoral poem and a unique verse epistle invitation suggest they are original works. |
Table of Contents | None. |
