Author attributions | Never. |
Binding | Contemporary vellum. |
Hands | Single. |
Indications of use | Trial signatures on the inside-back-cover or flyleaf of the book. The top of page 9 has been cut-out. Dark spots on the back of the book, probably an attempt to mark the book with her name. |
Item formatting | Single and double lines between some items that are written on the same page, however, no lines under titles and generally very little to distinguish between one item and the next. |
Original poetry | Maybe "A Song" on pages 18–19, but otherwise no original poetry. Orbis suggests that the "Ode" "written by a young Lady of a very uncommon and promising Genius" might be a self-referential attribution by the compiler, but the poem is by Laetitia Pilkington. |
Ownership mark | Compiler's name on title page and some trial signatures, "A"s, and "B"s on the inside-back-cover. |
Title page | Yes, "Arabella Browne Her Booke Annoque Dom 1728" with a large decorative swirl. |
