Rare.

Binding

Pre-bound paperbook. Many blanks, only about a third of the pages have been used.

Red morocco, rubbed, with gilt edging.

Front board detached, and first few leaves loose.

Catchwords

No, but some multi-page items have “continued” written at the bottom of the page.

Hands

Single; possibly two hands given variations in size, but given the strong sense of one guiding creator, likely just variations of the same hand.

Indications of use

Later corrections, annotations, explanatory headers.

Pages 77–78 have been deliberately excised.

Item formatting

Large, decorative script for titles.

In some sections, use of red ink for short, double rules between items and under titles, but also for emphasis.

Organization

There is an interval which records several important political events, then the volume returns to political satire.

Original poetry

Yes; there seems to be a lot of local poetry, and headers suggest the recording of his own writings.

Page layout

Paginated (by the compiler; no unpaginated pages though many are blank).

Pencilled lines to guide writing.

Title page

Yes: "Miscellaneous Articles, in Poetry and Prose."
